Glitter & Glam A Wine Tasting and Fashion Show to benefit Agape Animal Rescue
Miss Kitty's was honored to be part of a fabulous event to benefit Agape Animal Rescue. The event took place at the Hotel Preston, and featured beautiful clothes, fine food and wine, and of course particularly precious pooches! Izzy, a chocolate Pomeranian, belonging to Miss Kitty's Grooming Manager, Rita Dadosky, and Pinky, a cream Chihuahua, belonging to Miss Kitty's General Manager Chris Useo, were chosen from hundreds of other contemporary canines to be sexy models for this fine event.

The crowd was excited and emotional, cheering whenever a favorite model made his or her appearance dressed in fashion hound finery. The event was a success, and Miss Kitty's looks forward to being even more involved next year.

2009 Atlanta Groomer Competition
MISS KITTY’S, COMPETING WITH THE BEST IN ATLANTA Local Nashville groomers from Miss Kitty’s Bed & Bath, an upscale pet resort, set off for Atlanta to take part in The Atlanta Pet Fair. The grooming competition, which is geared toward styling, took place March 5-8th and is the biggest competition of its kind in the southeast area. There are around 50,000 groomers in the US and only 150-200 are able to participate in this prestigious competition. Among them, were all three groomers for Miss Kitty’s. Rita Dadosky, Miss Kitty’s grooming manager, won third place in the intermediate division with a Border Terrier named Cowboy who belongs to the owners of Miss Kitty’s.Another groomer from Miss Kitty’s, Priscilla Clemons tested for part of her Master Groomer Certification. This is something Miss Kitty’s prides itself on as there are no requirements on a national level to be a groomer. When asked about the importance of this competition, Dadosky replied “The standard in pet grooming can change year to year and in order to keep up with the high quality we have set for ourselves at Miss Kitty’s, it is important that we go to such competitions. The experiences we gain allow us to provide our customers with the best possible quality in grooming.” Competitions like these can be somewhat hectic. However, there was plenty of fun to be had as noted by Dadosky, “Although competing can be very chaotic and time consuming, it all seems worth it once you actually step in the ring. The dogs at a competition like this are the best of the best and just to be there is an honor in itself, no matter how the dog may end up placing.” Overall the competition was a great learning experience.

MISS KITTY’S HEADS TO THE WINDY CITY TO COMPETE… AND WINS!!
MISS KITTY’S HEADS TO THE WINDY CITY TO COMPETE… AND WINS!!

Our very own Kendall Shanks competed August 15th, 16th, and 17th in the All American Grooming Show in Chicago, Il. This dog grooming competition is the country’s best of the best. Rather than judge the dog himself, the judges critique the groomer’s ability to groom the dog to perfection. Of all the thousands of dog groomers in the United States, approximately only one hundred groomers are active in competitions.

We offer a most special thanks to one of our gracious clients who let us borrow her baby for the weekend. Kendall placed 1st in her class with Bichon Frise’ Louis Bloemer.
